I am so finished being called “crazy”. November 28, 2008

Has anyone heard the saying, “Different strokes for different folks”?  Well, it boils down to this: I am Christian.  I believe that Jesus died for my sins and through our Creator anything is possible.  That being said, if you are Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist – WHATEVER – you are entitled to that belief.  Simply because each religion has it’s extremists – and they all do – does not mean that everyone is a “crazy” this or “psycho” that.

I am secure in my faith, but being called a “psycho Christian” is not very nice.  Being called psycho in any respect is not very kind.  Perhaps these individuals are insecure in their own beliefs and state of mind and feel the need to bring others into their misery – as it is said, misery loves company.  I have to say, it won’t work on me.  I know who my Creator is – and you calling me “crazy” isn’t going to change that.  As the saying goes, if you have nothing nice to say, keep your mouth shut.

I promise, I’m not going to beat you over the head with a Bible.  If you aren’t interested in my beliefs, then that is where it stays.  Who am I to force that upon you?

In conclusion, stop calling people “crazy” – it’s just not nice.

It’s Election Day… November 4, 2008

…and there are WAY too many people NOT voting!  I know they say that the country is going to have a historic voter turnout, but there are still WAY too many eligible people not voting!  This is an exciting time for the United States.  We have the opportunity to see either the first black man in office or the first woman vice-president.  Voting in this country is a privilege and one people should take very seriously.

What’s that?  You say you don’t want to be called for jury duty?  Too busy to vote?  Nonsense!  Take the opportunity and vote for a candidate you believe in.  Don’t vote for someone because a celebrity says so or it’s the popular thing to do.  The information is there – SEEK IT.  Do your due diligence and find a candidate who represents what you believe serves the best interest of everyone in the country.

If you aren’t voting because you “don’t like America”, then by all means, hop on a plane and find asylum elsewhere.  I ASSURE you, you will be hard pressed to find another country anywhere with the liberties you have here.

So, get out and vote!  If not this time, register for the next time.
